Driftless Area Trout Fishin' & More...

Three of us boys set out for a couple days of flyfishing while an east coaster and a west coaster were back visiting in the Midwest.  Where else to go, but off to the Iowa Driftless Area in Northeast Iowa.  Great company, nice weather, good streams, lots of emerging insects, and yes tasty trouts to eat.

Trout bums, Coon Creek, Winneshiek County, Iowa.

We stayed at the Hruska's campground and canoe livery that is along the Upper Iowa River outside of the Town of Bluffton, Iowa.

Campire gnomes.

We had a fantastic  next day on Coldwater Creek trout stream
in Winneshiek County, Iowa.

Charlie outsmarting the trouts.

Dane being smarter than the trouts too.

Headwaters of Coldwater Creek on the way to the source of cold water from the famous Iowa Coldwater Creek Cave.

Supper!

Horsing around the Town of Decorah, Iowa.

Magpie Coffeehouse one of a few great coffee shops in Decorah, Iowa.
We also hit up Java John's and Impact in town.

There are also a couple of breweries in Decorah including
  Toppling Goliahth Brewing Company and
Yep, we patronized them both.

I've been into radlers, shandys, and sours lately.

You gotta eat more than just fish so how about some BBQ pork
from Old Armory BBQ on Water Street?

Got the standard with two sides, yum.

Get out to see, smell, and feel nature!
